Getting to Scotland

Leaving my home of Calgary, Alberta to come to Aberdeen, Scotland was the most nerve-wracking yet exciting thing I have ever done. The weeks leading up to my departure were spent packing and unpacking again and again until I finally decided I had everything I needed. I must thank my wonderful mother and brother for their help before my departure; I was extremely stressed and they both helped to show me that I was being a bit crazy.

After everything was packed it came time for me to head over to the airport. My brother, my father and my best friend came to see me off, for that I am grateful. My luggage was just at the weight limit of 50lbs so I was good to go.

I checked in to my flight and got my last Iced Capp while waiting for boarding to start in the YYC International Airport. As I boarded the plane I was pulled aside and was asked to wait for a few minutes, they then told me my seat had been upgraded. Score! My seat was upgraded to Business Class, making the 7 hour flight to London Heathrow much more bearable.

I slept for most of the flight so I can't say much except a huge thank you to British Airways for the wonderful experience.

I had a two hour layover in Heathrow in which I got a Starbucks and relaxed. The flight from London to Aberdeen was only 45 minutes and my friend met me at the Aberdeen Airport. After arriving in Aberdeen I checked into my new home for the next few months.
